President’s Message
It is a great honour for me to address you for the first time as President of EURO-CIU. I would like to sincerely thank you for the trust you have placed in me during the General Assembly in Istanbul. I deeply appreciate your confidence and look forward to serving our community.
The past year has been an important and eventful one for EURO-CIU, marked by several outstanding highlights.
A particular milestone was our 15th Symposium, which was successfully held in Istanbul. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our hosts, the CID from Türkiye, for their excellent organization and warm hospitality. This special event also marked the 30th anniversary of EURO-CIU, giving us the opportunity to celebrate three decades of commitment, progress, and collaboration within our community.
Another key moment was the ESPCI in Hannover. I was honoured to deliver the opening speech at this important event. On a personal note, this occasion held special meaning for me, as I received my first cochlear implant in Hannover 37 years ago, coincidentally in the very same week as this year’s ESPCI. This reflection highlights how far both technology and our community have come over the years.
We also saw the CIICA Conference in Brussels, which once again demonstrated the strength of collaboration across the field. This event brought together a wide range of stakeholders, reinforcing the importance of cooperation among professionals, users, and organizations dedicated to cochlear implantation.
These achievements reflect the continued growth and vitality of EURO-CIU. Together, we will continue to strengthen our network, advocate for access to care, and support innovation
and inclusion across Europe and beyond.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment and support.
Yours sincerely,
Tobias Fischer
